The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office in Reno, NV has confirmed that Jeremy Renner is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow. The sheriff’s office got the call to respond to a traumatic injury at or around 9 A.M. on New Years Day. Renner’s accident took place in the area of Mt. Rose Highway about 25 miles from Reno, where he has a home.
Police coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital. Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident.
Renner’s spokesperson said his family is with him now and he is “receiving excellent care.” We will let you know more when we hear it.
This from his reps:
“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.”
The region where Renner resides, near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, saw a winter storm hit on New Year’s Eve that resulted in 35,000 homes across Northern Nevada’s Washoe, Carson, Douglas, Storey and Lyon counties are still without power as of this morning.
Renner has become known as a passionate fighter against natural disasters in the area, having launched a campaign to build a Tahoe fire station to “help fight fires” in December 2021.
“I’m actually building a station at the house in Tahoe because it is a hot zone for fires,” Renner he told singer and daytime talk show host Kelly Clarkson when she asked about him being a volunteer fire chief. “I work with the fire departments up there and they are pretty awesome. They are teaching me and helping me, and I still have to get some more hours in with them.”
Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee, is the star of the returning Paramount+ series The Mayor of Kingstown and Marvel’s Hawkeye series on Disney+ as well as the Avengers and Captain America films.
Renner scored a Best Actor Oscar nomination in 2010 for The Hurt Locker, and landed a Supporting Actor Oscar nom the next year for The Town. Mayor of Kingstown begins its second season January 15 on Paramount+.
