New York Comic Con 2022 and Paramount yield up their treasures in this new teaser trailer for the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard. Jean-Luc and friends have a great story arc waiting for us — one last adventure.
This all-new teaser premiered at the Star Trek Universe panel today (Saturday, October 8) at New York Comic Con 2022. Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Michael Dorn of Star Trek: The Next Generation all return for one final high stakes mission.
It all begins with a distress call from Beverly Crusher, and somewhere along the way, the villains of the piece appear. Amanda Plummer plays Vadic, captaining a very large battleship with some very large guns. Lore is back, played by Brent Spiner. There is yet another character who appears toward the end wearing a John Bull top hat in the style of Victorian England, and that clue suggests that this is none other than Daniel Davis, who played the role of a holographic Moriarty in two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
We can pretty much tell that Amanda Plummer’s character Vadic is a heavy in the upcoming final season, but Is Moriarty a heroic figure here, or the brains behind the entire operation? And, either way, what is he doing outside of his holo-simulator? We have no way of knowing, until, of course, they air the episode.
