We first came to know “Billy” Mumy as a child actor in roles like Anthony Fremont in The Twilight Zone‘s “It’s a Good Life” episode (“Gopher, you be dead.”), and Will Robinson in Lost in Space. He’s Bill Mumy these days, and with another landmark role, Lennier from Babylon 5 to his credit, he’s had an amazing run as an actor.
Now, he’s focusing on his music career, and this cut from his “Illuminations” album shows the mature perspective of someone who’s lived his life largely in the public eye, yet never believed his own publicity. Mumy is an accomplished musician who plays guitar, bass, keyboards, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and percussion. His rich, mellow voice is perfect for this introspective piece.
“Illuminations” is available on iTunes and Amazon.
