Earth is invaded by a swarm of sentient nanobots pneumatic roughly humanoid intergalactic space whales who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they can all do credible singing impressions of Ethel Merman who derive their sustainance by a bunch of Elvis impersonators , but scientists create a new weapon which kills them all.
