Earth falls under the spell of a cosmic enchantment, casting the world into sentient vats of melted caramel who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they are radioactive and cannot be destroyed by a bunch of Elvis impersonators but one cunning young man somehow convinces them that people are okay and so they leave our planet and fly home.
