The promotion for Marvel Studio’s Avengers: Doomsday keeps coming almost week by week, even though the release of the film itself is 11 months away. Today’s pearl is the meeting of Fantastic Four and the warriors of Wakanda, underscored by Suri’s narrative on loss and duty. King M’Baku of Wakanda meets on the edge of the mighty Sahara with Ben Grimm, of Yancy Street between Broome and Grand.

We note also that Namor, now allied with Wakanda thanks to Suri’s courage and skill as the new Black Panther, makes his first appearance in these mini-teasers. Winston Duke returns as M’Baku, now King of Wakanda. Letitia Wright is back as Suri, T’Challa’s sister who has inherited the mantle of Black Panther. Tenoch Huerta reprises his role as Namor, Prince of the undersea kingdom of Talokan, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is once again the Ever Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing, Benjamin Grimm.

The pressure on the film to succeed is impossibly high. They must not fail, or they will destroy everything they have built as a franchise. In the face of this, the world situation is becoming increasingly dire, and people look to their heroes, fictional or otherwise, to inspire them and show them the way forward. Marvel Studios must be astutely aware of this, and they’re working all this at the master’s level. We are impressed, and hopeful, and look forward with great anticipation to the film’s release.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal and a host of other familiar faces from the Avengers film series. It releases on December 18. 2026, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely.
