Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy star in this phantasmagorical adventure. The Magic Faraway Tree is the story of a family who loses everything, and is forced to move to the country—waaaay out into the country, where what’s true and real is more dependent on dreams and fairytales. Here, they can begin again.

The film is based on novel The Magic Faraway Tree (1943), by Enid Blyton. There are actually four novels in Blyton’s ‘The Faraway Tree’ series: The Enchanted Wood (1939), The Magic Faraway Tree (1943), The Folk of the Faraway Tree (1946), Up the Faraway Tree (1951).
The Magic Faraway Tree is directed by written Ben Gregor, from a script by Simon Farnaby, and stars Andrew Garfield as Tim, Claire Foy as Polly, Nichola Coughlan as Silky, Jessica Gunning as Dame Washalot, Rebecca Ferguson as Dame Snap, Nonso Anozie as Moonface, Dustin Demri-Burns as Saucepan Man, and Mark Heap as Mr. Oom Boom Boom, and makes its big screen debut on March 26, 2026 in Australia. The film was completed on November 5, 2025. No U.S. release date has yet been announced.
