The new season of Peacemaker brings us back into the story, picking up right after the events of James Gunn’s Superman movie, plugging into DCU Chapter One production slate, which began in 2024 with the animated series Creature Commandos. Notably, Nathan Fillion appears as the Green Lantern Guy Gardner, widely recognized as the superhero with the absolutely worst social skills, but it’s thrilling to see a Green Lantern in live action television.

John Cena returns as Christopher Smith, backed by Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, and Frank Grillo. James Gunn is back as creator and showrunner—he wrote all eight episodes and directed three of them, with Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones helming the rest.

Season 2 of Peacemaker drops on Max in the US on August 21, 2025.
