Wednesday Season 2 was delayed in part due to the Hollywood strikes, in particular the Writers Guild of America strike (WGA) and the SAG-AFTRA strike on behalf of the actors. These significantly impacted production schedules not only for Wednesday, but for pretty much all of Hollywood as a business model. The writer’s strike brought screenwriting for the second season to a halt while they sorted things out. They also had to move the production from Romania to Ireland.

Netflix has picked up the pieces, though, and the production is on track to outshine its first season. The cast includes Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Luis Guzman as Gomez, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, and Victor Dorobantu as Thing.

Tim Burton has directed eight episodes so far between 2022 and 2025. Alfred Gough is credited as series creator along with Miles Millar. Part One of the second season drops on August 6th. Part Two drops on September 3rd.
