Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are back for another round of body swapping in this new Disney fantasy situation comedy.

Years after Tess and Anna endured an identity crisis, Anna now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might strike twice.
The original film Freaky Friday from 1976 starred Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris in the lead roles, and was based on a book by the same name published in 1972, written by Mary Rodgers. Since then there have been two remakes of the original film, and five films in the Freaky Friday franchise. This new film makes number six,
Lohan and Curtis are reprising their roles from the 2003 film Freaky Friday, so for them, this is a sort of homecoming.
Freakier Friday also stars Mark Harmon, Rosalind Chao, Julia Butters, Chad Michael Murray, Manny Jacinto, and Lucille Soong. It’s directed by Nisha Ganatra, from a script by Leslie Dixon, Heather Hach, and Mary Rodgers. It goes to theaters on August 8, 2025.
