With the new Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance making its debut on August 30, we got caught up in Muppet and Gelfling fever along with the rest of you – and we found this remarkable production by Priscilla Hernandez. She does a gorgeous cover of the wordless song to nature sung by Kira in the original film The Dark Crystal – and not only does she play the double ocarina on this track, but she cosplays as Kira in an absolutely esquisite recreation of the character.
Pause the SCIFI.radio stream using the handy controller to the upper right before you watch this – and, you may want to watch it full screen, because the visuals are that detailed and that sumptuous. It really is something.
Ms. Hernandez has done a masterful job of creating not only the perfect tonalities, but the visual ambience as well. This is our new favorite version of this song, even over the original, and the cinematography is jawdropping.
She’s a huge fan of Jim Henson and the Frouds, the designers whose vision Henson had brought to life for the original film, and now again for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

And yes, we’re adding this one to the SCIFI.radio playlist. It’s earned its place in our standing library.
