Mahakarya Studios (mahakarya means “Masterpiece” in Malay) is a group of artists from a variety of disciplines who have all come together in the name of creating great art. For this musical arrangement, they have assembled musicians playing traditional Malay instruments to produce this Game of Thrones medley piece, and the theme to the HBO television series from the books by George R. R. Martin has never sounded so majestic.
Pairing the classical violin and cello with traditional Malay musical instruments like gambus, gendang and seruling, the group created a hauntingly beautiful rendition Ramin Djawadi’s House Greyjoy, House Stark and the opening theme of Game of Thrones.
