Earth awakens ancient cosmic guardians to defend against an otherworldly threat from extraterrestrial cats who want to plug us into a power grid and use us as living batteries even though they smell really bad and cannot be destroyed by a nuclear bomb but one cunning young man somehow convinces them that people are okay and they form a rock band and tour the galaxy, becoming interstellar celebrities.
