Earth is invaded by a swarm of sentient nanobots efficiently compact tentacled tiny marshmellow men who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they have seen every episode of Firefly who tend to stutter under pressure when confronted by a nuclear bomb , but scientists create a new weapon which does not work and then they kill us all.
