Earth slows to a stop and starts spinning in reverse which confuses house pets who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they can all do credible singing impressions of Ethyl Merman and might be overpowered by a crowd of people with pitchforks and torches , but scientists create a new weapon which does not work so they eat us all.
