Based on the 2014 New Zealand film of the same name, What We Do In The Shadows is a half hour mockumentary series about the every day (or should that be "Night"?) life (or should that be "After Life"?) of a group of vampire roommates living in Staten Island. The series is developed by the original films creators, Jermaine Clement (of Flight Of The Conchords) and Taika Waititi (Director of Thor: Ragnarok), and will be coming to FX. Nandor, Guillermo, and Laszlo The vampires we meet in the series include Nandor The Restless, played by Kayvan Novak, a great conqueror from the Ottoman Empire, the leader of the group and who's Old World thinking irritates some of his roommates. The British vampire, Laszlo, played by Matt Berry, who loves getting into mischief, and enjoys watching Nandor fail. Nadja, played by Natasia Demetriou, is the vampire seductress of the group. Colin Robinson, played by Mark Proksch, is an energy vampire, who feeds off of the energy of humans, rather than their blood. In other words, he bores them to death. Finally, there's Guillermo, played by Harvey Guillen, Nandor's servant and protector during the day, who wishes nothing more than to please his master, and to one day become a vampire himself. He also goes out to find "food" for the group. Compared to some late night shoppers I've seen, he looks fairly normal The camera crew for the "documentary" follow our characters as they deal with their day to day (or is that "Night To Night"?) ordeals of getting food, dealing with hygiene, confronting werewolves, and most importantly, not killing each other. There is also the real reason that they were sent to Staten Island a hundred years ago, total domination of the New World, a task given to them by Baron Afanas. No listing on who is portraying Afanas, but Star Trek: Discovery's Doug Jones is rumored to be appearing in at least one episode of the series, our money is on him being Afanas. Clement and Waititi, along with Paul Simms, Scott Rudin, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush are the executive producers of the series. FX has the ten episode series set to air on March 27 at 10 PM ET/PT.
