Earth suffers a temporary glitch in the space-time continuum, creating sentiant walruses who are friendly but incomprehensible who derive their sustainance by a slap to the side of the head with a large fish but they fall in love with a young girl and they are taken in by a kindly old lady who mistakes them for lost children.
