Fan favorite Warwick Davis has been admitted as an officer of the Order of the British Empire.
Prince William, brother to His Majesty, King Charles III, granted Warwick Davis the honor of O. B. E .(Officer of the Order of the British empire) in the 2026 New Years Honors List. The actual medal was presented by Prince William at Windsor castle, on behalf of his brother. The award was granted for services to drama and charity. Like his Willow co-star, the late Billy Barty, Warwick Davis has worked to raise awareness of the difficulties, especially health problems that Little People have.

Any fan of science fiction, fantasy, and horror movies is familiar with Mr. Davis’ career. He began his acting career when he was only eleven, playing Wicket, the Ewok who befriended Princess Leia in Return of the Jedi (19933). George Lucas was so pleased with his work that he cast him as Willow Ufgood in the fantasy adventure movie Willow(1988). The role was in fact, written with Davis in mind.
This movie brought him worldwide fame and led to his roles in the Harry Potter franchise as Professor Filius Flitwick, and the goblin bank teller, Griphook. He would go to play Porridge in Doctor Who in the episode “Silver Nightmare” with Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor.
In the movie version of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,(2005) Davis played Marvin the Paranoid Android. He appeared in two separate adaptations of C.S. Lewis’Chronicles of Narnia. In the BBC television adaptation, Davis was Reepicheep the Mouse and Glimfeather the Owl in The Silver Chair. In Disney’s Prince Caspian (2008) Davis played Nikabrik the Dwarf.

Warwick Davis was born with spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, a rare form of dwarfism. Over the years, he has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the condition, even co-founding the charity Little People UK, which offers “friendship and support” to people with dwarfism and their families.
