Homelander, the twisted parody of Superman that is the core of The Boys, is trying to become immortal. Watch the trailer.

Eric Kripke’s r-rated Prime Video superhero series The Boys is one month away from the debut of its fifth and final season on Amazon. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and The Boys take their final stand against Antony Starr’s POTUS-in-all-but-title Homelander. The series warns us that absolute power inevitably corrupts absolutely, that even the mightiest despot can fall, and it reminds us all that the greatest superpowers, beneath all the splatter and violence, is still empathy for one’s fellow human being.
The official description reads:
The Boys is an adult superhero comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, originating with Wildstorm Comics in 2006, who published the first six volumes. It was picked up by Dynamite Entertainment, who published the remaining eight volumes, finishing the series in 2012. An eight issue epilogue series was published from June to December in 2020. The book was adapted by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television starting July 26, 2019.
It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.
The final season of The Boys begins on Prime Video on April 8, 2026.
