Oscar-winning writer/producer/director Christopher Nolan has just released the final trailer for his latest blockbuster, a retelling of Homer’s The Odyssey.

The Odyssey is one of the oldest stories of fantasy and adventure that we have, and has been told and retold countless hundreds of times. You probably know the story. After fighting in the Trojan War for years, Odysseus (aka Ulysses), King of Ithaca attempts to take his war-weary soldiers home. Along the way, they face natural disasters, monsters, angry deities, and a short-tempered enchantress.
More than just another adventure movie, The Odyssey represents a landmark in the history of cinema, and indeed the history of storytelling itself. The movie hits theaters July 17, 2026.
