This year, as with every year prior, SCIFI.radio is a Wham “Last Christmas” free zone. You can listen to our holiday music as much as you want without fear of getting “whammed”.

The “Wham! Last Christmas” game, also known as Whamageddon, is a seasonal game where players try to avoid hearing the original Wham! song “Last Christmas” between December 1st and Christmas Eve. Players are eliminated as soon as they hear and recognize the song, with covers and remixes not counting. The game is meant to be a personal survival challenge, and the last person to hear the song by midnight on December 24th wins.

How to play

  • Start date: The game begins on December 1st.
  • End date: It ends at midnight on December 24th.
  • Elimination: A player is out of the game as soon as they hear and recognize the original studio version of Wham!’s “Last Christmas”.
  • What’s safe: Covers, remixes, and other artists’ versions of the song do not count as a disqualification.
  • Winning: The last person to hear the song by midnight on Christmas Eve wins.

Important rules and tips

  • Be honest: The game relies on players being honest about hearing the song.
  • Self-reporting: Participants often post on social media to announce their elimination or victory, often using the hashtag #Whamageddon.
  • Avoid sabotaging others: The game is intended as a personal survival challenge, not a competition to get others out.
  • Use headphones: To avoid being caught off-guard, especially in public places like grocery stores or gas stations, players often wear noise-canceling headphones and play their own music.

Keep it tuned to SCIFI.radio, and you won’t get whammed. We promise.
