It’d hardly surprising, given how popular Disney’s Zootopia (2016) was, that Disney is making a sequel. In addition to the original cast of characters, Zootopia 2 will feature Robert Irwin, son and hair of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin (1962-2006) as the voice of Robert Furwin, a koala.
Robert Irwin has grown up on camera; he appeared in Crikey! It’s the Irwins, Wild but True, Steve Irwin’s Wildlife Warriors He co-hosts the reality show I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! with Australian actress/comedienne Julia Morris. The handsome young conservationist announced his cartoon role whilst a competitor on Dancing With the Stars. Zootopia 2 is not technically Irwin’s theatrical debut, as he had a cameo in Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove (2010), but this will be his first voice role for an animated feature. He previously voiced a dingo on one episode of the Australian children’s cartoon, Bluey.
