It seems like we’ve been waiting forever to see this. The trailer for the Marvel Television miniseries Ironheart is here.

Although Ironheart is Iron Man’s spiritual successor in the MCU, in the comicbooks it’s not that way at all. In the comics, she’s only fifteen. Named after her now-deceased father Riri Williams Sr., and with the access to MIT’s laboratories and technology, she reverse engineers Iron Man’s suit using stolen parts. When campus security knocks on her door, she flees wearing the suit she’s built. Tony Stark hears of her accomplishment and decides to endorse her decision to become a superhero.
The trailer seems to follow this in general terms, but adds a whole extra dimension to it. Her base of operations, instead of Tony Stark’s lab as in the comics, becomes a shady military bunker with a crate of self-guided missiles laying around in it. There is a whole organization of shady individuals about whom RiRi knows little to nothing, but is eager to accept their help because that support isn’t forthcoming from the university, and she wants to build something iconic.
Executive producer Ryan Coogler’s Ironheart, starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, with Anthony Ramos, Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana, Zoe Terakes, Lyric Ross, Metthew Elam and Harper Anthony, comes to Disney+ launches with a three-episode premiere on June 24, 2025 at 6pm PT/9pm ET.
In 2017, MIT released their own short subject about RiRi Williams as Ironheart. The character had made its debut in the comics just a year earlier, and MIT wanted to use the character to make a great recruitment video for PI day. Marvel gave their permission.
