Actress Denise Alexander, best known for starring in two soap operas, Another World and Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 85. She was also a regular on Tom Corbett, Space Cadet as Betty Corbett. Tom Corbett, Space Cadet was one of the earliest sci-fi shows on television, running from 1950 to 1955. She appeared in a 1959 Twilight Zone episode, “Third from the Sun.”
Alexander starred in her first movie , Crime in the Streets (1956) when she was only fourteen. She was a child actress on radio before that.

Denise Alexander was born November 11, 1939 in New York City, New York, USA. She died March 5, 2025. Variety reported she died in March, but the news of her death had just recently been released.
From 1966 to 1973, Alexander played Susan Martin on Days of Our Lives. She also played Dr. Lesley Webber, one of the first female doctors on television on General Hospital.
Execeutive producer Frank Valenti said ““It meant so much to have her reprise her role in recent years, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with her,” Frank tweeted on May 9, 2025. “On behalf of the entire General Hospital family, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends, and longtime fans. May she rest in peace. I am so very sorry to hear of Denise Alexander’s passing. She broke barriers on-screen and off, portraying Dr. Lesley Webber – one of the first female doctors on Daytime Television — for nearly five decades.”

I was sorry to hear she’s gone.
I’ve seen many programs she was in. But as long as I’ve been a science fiction fan, I don’t remember ever watching *Tom Corbett, Space Cadet*. I’ll look for that.
