Actor/singer Jeremy Renner already has a long resume. Not only has he earned two Academy Award nominations and starred or co-starred in some of Hollywood’s biggest movies… he’s a real life hero who risked his life to save his nephew. Not only does he have three albums for sale, but now he can add author to his list of job titles. Renner’s memoirs, My Next Breath, has just been released.

My Next Breath focuses on his long period of physical therapy and rehabilitation after his horrific accident. Amazon describes it as “his gripping and inspiring story of a near-fatal accident and what he learned about inner strength, endurance and hope as he overcame insurmountable odds to recover, one breath at a time.

Vulture said of the audiobook “Renner’s description of his recovery is life affirming and just pretty incredible. His narration is particularly harrowing. There are occasional cuts to 911 calls on the day of the incident, and you can even hear Renner fighting to stay alive in the background. I’m of the mind that not every celebrity needs a memoir, but this one’s worth it.” Renner himself narrates the audiobook.

The book, which is 224 pages in hardcover, already was a 4.7 rating on Amazon out of a possible five stars. That’s based on 28 reviews thus far.

My Next Breath is available through Amazon and at better bookstores. Since it was only released April 29, your local library probably hasn’t had time to get it yet. But if you’re looking for some good summer reading, My Next Breath might be what you’re looking for.
