After having survived a trip through the multiverse, Mark finds his next threat may be closer to home than he expected in the Invincible season 3 trailer. Based on Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley’s comic book series of the same name, the Prime Video series follows the adventures of Mark Grayson, son of the world’s most powerful superhero, as he himself gains powers and learns about the emotional turmoil that comes with the job, including learning that his father was an alien that originally came to Earth to conquer it.
Prime Video announced the Season 3 premiere of Invincible for Thursday, February 6, 2025. The third season will launch with the first three episodes on February 6 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, with subsequent episodes dropping every Thursday through March 13.
The adult animated superhero series is from Skybound Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios. J.K. Simmons and Sandra Oh also star with a voice cast that includes Seth Rogen, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Zachary Quinto, Chris Diamantopoulos, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Ben Schwartz, Clancy Brown, Jay Pharoah, Mark Hamill, and Melise Jow.
Built in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s (Walking Dead) comic book series, Invincible follows the life of 17-year-old Mark Grayson, voiced by Steven Yeun, as he inherits his father’s superpowers and sets out to become Earth’s greatest defender, only to discover the job is more challenging and strange than he could have ever imagined.
Kirkman says:
“I feel like we’re just getting started. I’m very hopeful that this show can be around for awhile. With Season 4, we’re really hitting our stride. There’s really exciting stuff coming up in Season 4 (season 4 has been confirmed),” Kirkman teased about the animated series’ future during an interview with Variety, noting that what’s to come will “blow people away.” “I think you can see that Season 2 is an advancement of a lot of things that were introduced in Season 1. The stakes were higher, things got a little crazier, and there were a lot of pieces moving that were hinting at a lot of bigger stories. Those bigger stories really start crashing down in Season 3. But Season 4 dwarfs Season 3 in a lot of really crazy ways. It’s an escalating show where each season is going to be bigger, crazier, more intense, and that stuff really kicks off with Season 3,” Kirkman explained.
The trailer shows Mark is now faster, stronger, and tougher than ever. His new blue suit, like in the comics, is a metaphor for the many changes happening, including bad stuff. The yellow suit returns when things are better. The trailer gives a lot of clues to the many story arcs coming this season, including Nolan (Omni-Man) and Mark’s friends. The show is worth watching if you like superheroes that are more complex, and with a horror element (though this is lighter than Walking Dead).
