We’ve got two new Star Trek clips for you, fresh from New York Comic Con, and interestingly, both contain the dialog line “Brace for impact!”

The “Star Trek Universe” panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday provided first glimpses of Season 3 of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and the fifth season of “Star Trek: Lower Decks.” Attendees had the chance to watch the premiere episode of the animated series.

Paramount+ also shared that the franchise’s first original TV movie, “Star Trek: Section 31,” is set to debut on January 24 in the U.S. and other regions where the service is available. During the panel, cast members Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl, and Robert Kazinsky, along with executive producer and director Olatunde Osunsanmi, talked about the film. Michelle Yeoh, who reprises her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from “Star Trek: Discovery,” also made a video appearance.

First, in the clip from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 3, the crew of the Enterprise under Captain Pike are fighting the Gorn, and it’s down to a plan by Lt. Uhura to temporarily disable the shields of the Gorn mothership.

The “Strange New Worlds” clip picks up immediately after Season 2 cliffhanger finale in which Capt. Pike is caught in a life-or-death battle with the fearsome aliens the Gorn. Season 3 is set to premiere in 2025.

Ethan Peck and Carol Kane, along with executive producers Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers, joined the discussion about the third season of “Strange New Worlds.” The show follows the adventures of the USS Enterprise during Captain Christopher Pike’s command, played by Anson Mount. They also revealed that Rhys Darby, known for “Our Flag Means Death,” will guest star in Season 3.

Next up, it’s Lower Decks. The Cerritos under Captain Freeman are sucked into a subspace anomaly, and are hailed by — the Cerritos, under command of Captain Freeman, but not Carol Freeman. In this universe, it’s her daughter, Captain Beckett Freeman, whom they face.

“Star Trek: Lower Decks” Season 5 premieres exclusively on Paramount+ on Oct. 24, 2024.

It’s going to be a great year for Star Trek, and between you and us, we’re here for it.
