Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, best known for playing Thor in the MCU turns 39 on Thursday August 11, 2022.

Christopher Hemsworth was born August 11, 1983 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Like other members of “the Chris Club: Chris Evans, Chris Pine, and Chris Pratt, he’s been keeping very busy. He will be playing Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan in an upcoming Hulk Hogan biopic.

His life of performance before the camera began in his native Australia. He played King Arthur in the TV show Guinevere Jones and Jamie Kane on the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours. He played Kim Hyde in the Australian show Home and Away.

After making a name for himself in Australian television, he came to Hollywood to play George Kirk, Jim Kirk’s father in Star Trek (2009). From there he moved on to the MCU, playing Thor in eight movies and one videogame.

He’s also popped up in various non-MCU films. In the female-led reboot of Ghostbusters (2016), he played Kevin. He played the Huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and its sequel The Huntsman: Winter’s war (2016). In Men in Black: International (2019), Hemsworth played Agent H. He appeared in Joss Whedon’s The Cabin in the Woods (2012) as athlete Curt Vaughan.

He has been married to actress Elsa Pataky since 2010. They have three children, twin sons Sasha and Tristan and daughter India.
