In Shazam! Fury of the Gods, a bunch of kids have stolen powers they probably shouldn’t have. And the Daughters of Atlas are kind of tweaked about it.
The first movie left off with the entire Batson family getting superpowers and defeating Doctor Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins (quick, somebody start a rock band and name it that). Now things are about to get real. The ramifications of a bunch of kids running around with superpowers becomes the focus of the new film, and the Daughters of Atlas are in the mix to try to take those powers back. The Batsons face all sorts of challenges, including, apparently, a very large, scary dragon.
The trailer opens with Shazam! (Zachary Levi) on the couch talking to a therapist trying to sort out his life. The therapist is really just a pediatrician that Billy Batson trusts, so who else would he go to? He’s still a kid, what does he know? But trust is trust, and family is family.
The original donor of the powers of Shazam returns to give Billy the guidance he needs, but it’s up to Billy and his family to meet the challenge head on.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods makes its cinematic debut this December. Warner Bros. hopes to hit their marks for a December 21, 2022 release date.
