We have happy news! Fan favorite Scottish actress Karen Gillan has made the dramatic transition from “single” to “married”! Miss Gillan, who played Companion Amy Pond in Dr. Who and Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy and other MCU films, married American comedian Nick Kocher at Castle Toward on May 14, 2022 in a private ceremony in Dunoon, Argyllshire, Scotland.

Karen and Nick – who writes for the likes of Saturday Night Live and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – exchanged their vows in front of family, friends, and even Karen’s former Doctor Who boss Steven Moffat.

Nick Kocher and Karen Gillan, newly married!

Nick Kocher and Karen Gillan starred together in Netflix’s The Bubble. With his partner, Brian McElhaney, Kocher is half of the comedy duo BriTANick . BriTANick appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) as television eyewitnesses and in Joss Whedon‘s brilliant remake of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) as The First and Second Watchmen.

Gillan, of course, played the wildly popular Doctor Who companion Amy Pond in series 5 through 7 of the show. She was the first companion actress since Billie Piper to appear as a regular in two consecutive seasons and the first since Sophie Aldred to appear with the same Doctor for more than one season.

in addition to Dr. Who and the MCU, Karen Gillan starred as Martha in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Kaylie in Oculus (2013).

A Scottish castle is certainly a romantic venue to begin their married life together. Congratulations to Nick Kocher andand best wishes to his lovely bride.
