The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat: the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.

Frankly, if we were stoked about the series before, the reading is off the charts now.

The limited series begins streaming on Disney+ on May 27, 2022.

The phrase “May the 4th Be With You” was first used on May 4, 1979, when Margaret Thatcher was elected as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the Conservative party put an ad in the London Evening News that read “May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie, Congratulations.” The day hardcore fans of Star Wars celebrate, though, is May 25, 1977, which is the day the first film of the legendary series was released in the theaters to throngs of happy fans.

This year, on May 25, Star Wars will be 45 years old.
