Billy Bobble Makes A Magic Wand, is R.S. Mellette’s debut novel from Elephant Bookshelf’s Press. Prior to Billy Bobble, Mellette had Sci-Fi short stories published in the anthologies: The Fall: Tales from the ApocalypseSpring Fevers and Summer’s Edge. The book Kiya and the Morian Treasure is actually the first book he ever wrote, but the third to be published.

R.S. Mellette is an Associate Director of Dances With Films (one of MovieMaker Magazine’s top 25 coolest film festivals in the world). He wrote and directed the multi-festival winner, Jacks or Better. He also wrote the first web-to-television intellectual property, “The Xena Scrolls,” for Universal Studio’s Xena: Warrior Princess. On Blue Crush and Nutty Professor II he served as script coordinator. He’s acted in Looney Tunes: Back In ActionStar Trek: EnterpriseDays of Our LivesToo Young The Hero, and countless stage productions across the US.

Mellette is a member of the Science Fiction Writers of American and a regional board member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.


How do you fight a myth?… You create another one.

Kiya is a former space pirate with a fast ship trying to make a legit living when she accepts a commision from a diplomat, Janus Alotus. He’s got a price on his head and space plague racking his body. Kiya’s task: use her unique skills to bring Janus’ daughter Nadir home safely, so he can sacrifice himself to Adminral Ghan, rule of the Pirate Council. Janus’ public execution will be a last, depserate attempt to bring peace to the galaxy, even if it takes a war to accomplish it.

Great plan, until Kiya’s ship is atteacked by a fellow pirate and ex, Derek, who’s looking to collect the bounty on Janus for himself. With Janus captured, Nadir and Kiya are left to fend for themselves while Kiya seeks to recover the memories erased by her father—which she’s convinced hold the key to finding the mysterious Morian Treasure.
