Yes, it’s Christmastime once again, and the BBC makes the season bright with their announcement of holiday fare.
The first episode of the new season is called Revolution of the Daleks, and it drops on New Year’s Day. The annual special is listed amongst this year’s Christmas specials in their announcement of festive shows.
“…in the eagerly anticipated Doctor Who special, the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) has been imprisoned, leaving her three best friends to face the Daleks, the most ruthless of enemies, without her.”
To say nothing of the countdown until the official trailer debut. And here it is.
Fan favorite John Barrowman is back as the immortal Captain Jack Harkness, and this time his character plays a prominent role in the entire episode, a significant bump up from his cameo in last season’s Fugitive of the Judoon. Jodie Whittaker’s entire squad of companions are back as well, used to good effect to provide a grounding to the on-going Doctor Who universe in this exciting new story.
The thirteenth season of Doctor Who will be a shorter one than normal – eight episodes instead of twelve – owing to restrictions placed on the production by the necessities imposed by the COVID-19 epidemic.
