Halloween is perhaps our favorite holiday. It’s the time when we stop dressing like mundanes and let people see who we really are. The whole concept of cosplay is validated by the mere existence of Halloween.

The music is wonderful as well, it’s more fanciful, more playful, and just as timeless as Christmas carols are. A case in point: Grim Grinning Ghosts, a Halloween staple since the opening of The Haunted Mansion ride in Disneyland on August 9, 1969, has become one of the signature songs of the season.

This new version of the geeking world favorite features tight, thick and fluid harmonies, and some nice crunchy hooks. The video plays on the concept of disembodied ghostly heads singing in the graveyard in the dead of night. It’s easily the coolest bit of music for Halloween we’ve seen this year. It tickles our love of Halloween and our love of Disneyland all at once.

Enjoy.

And yes, you’ll hear this one on SCIFI.radio during this final week before Halloween. How could we not?
