The dynamic duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are coming back together, this time on the small screen, with a horror-comedy series called Truth Seekers. The series, will follow the adventures of Gus and Dave, ghost hunters that travel the UK investigating hauntings in medieval churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals. The duo use homemade ghost-detecting devices and post their escapades on their online channel. As the eight episode series progresses Gus and Dave’s supernatural experiences grow more frequent, and even deadly, and the duo begin to uncover a conspiracy that threatens the entire human race.

Created and written by Pegg and Frost, Truth Seekers promises to bring back the mojo so loved by fans in the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End). The pair have been working together since the days of Spaced and have been heavy hitters in the Sci-Fi world ever since. Pegg and Frost are known for their quirky British style of comedy and ability to bring even the nerdiest of subjects to the mainstream.

Choosing to film in the UK is a strike of genius, as this country is chock full of hauntings. London alone boasts some of the most haunted buildings in the world. The Tower of London is home to at least 11 ghosts, the most famous of which is likely to be Anne Boleyn. Anne, the second wife of Henry VIII, was beheaded on the Tower Green after being found guilty of treason, adultery, incest and witchcraft. The Old Bull and Bush Pub in Hampstead has been reported to be haunted by generations of workers and patrons.

A recent renovation revealed a skeleton from the Victorian age bricked up into a cellar wall. Yeah, that’ll cause a haunting.

Amazon, who so recently brought us Good Omens, will be streaming Truth Seekers (hopefully) in 2020. Production is set to begin in September 2019. Be prepared to be scared, and to laugh at the same time!
