Based on the Dark Horse action noir graphic novel Polar: Came from the Cold by Victor Santos, this new Netflix trailer is for the Netflix feature film Polar.

Pause the stream using the handy controller at the upper right before you watch this. If you’re on your cell phone and the player is running, you’ll find the controller near the bottom of the page. We’re working on a way to make sure the player doesn’t automatically kickstart on mobile devices, but we’re not completely there yet.

The world’s top assassin, Duncan Vizla, aka The Black Kaiser, is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced.

Award-winning actor and international star, Mads Mikkelsen, is known for his striking character portrayals from his lead role in the television series Hannibal to icy Bond villain Le Chiffre in Casino Royale. He recently starred opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s Doctor Strange and in the Star Wars adventure, Rogue One. Mikkelsen received the Best Actor Award at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival for The Hunt. He previously garnered international attention for his starring role in The Punisher film trilogy from director Nicolas Winding Refn.

The original graphic novel was already very popular among comic fans and achieved great critical acclaim, but the feature film has an additional draw: the driving electronica of the original score is being provided by none other than deadmau5.

Polar stars Mads Mikkelsen and Vanessa Hudgens, and releases on Netflix on January 25. The soundtrack for the film by deadmau5 will release on the same day.
