For those of us fans who have finished binge watching Marvel’s The Defenders on Netflix, we were treated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe tradition of after-credits scenes. This time, we are treated to the first official teaser for Marvel’s The Punisher, the next installment in the gritty Netflix side of the MCU.

The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) as the title character, continuing his one man war on crime started in the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil. Bernthal was so popular with fans, many who praised his powerful performance, that Netflix commissioned his own spin-off series. As one can tell from the trailer, and what has been seen of the Punisher’s methods in Daredevil, this more than certain to be the darkest and most violent of the already edgy Netflix shows.

Reuniting with Bernthal from Daredevil is Deborah Ann Woll as reporter Karen Page, who formed a bond of sorts with Frank Castle. Also starring is Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, a hacker that works alongside the Punisher; Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, a private military corporation owner and Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, a Homeland Security agent.

The first season of The Punisher releases on Netflix in late 2017.
