Coming soon is the latest DC Universe animated film from Warner Brothers Animation, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. The film was originally planned as the third DC animated film after Superman: Doomsday and Justice League: New Frontier, but was shelved and was believed the project would never be revived. Now, it’s finally coming, serving as a sequel to Justice League VS Teen Titans.

The Teen Titans, from “The Judas Contract”

The original story that the film is based on was published in New Teen Titans 42-44 and Teen Titans Annual back in 1984, written by Marv Wolfman. This was the storyline that Dick Grayson adopted the identity of Nightwing. It also featured the character of Terra, who could manipulate earth and all earth related materials.

As this serves as a sequel to Justice League VS Teen Titans, this film does differ from the original source. The Titans in this story are Nightwing, Robin, Raven, Starfire, Blue Beetle, Beast Boy, and Terra, as they battle Deathstroke, who’s hired by Brother Blood to capture the Titans, so that he can drain their powers for his evil purposes.

Returning to this film are the voices of Sean Maher as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Kari Wahlgren as Koriand’r/Starfire, Brandon Soo Hoo as Garfield Logan/Beast Boy, Jake T. Austin as Jaime Reyes/The Blue Beetle, Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne/Robin, and Taissa Farmiga as Raven. Joining the cast, Christina Ricci provides the voice of Terra, Greg Henry as Brother Blood, and, in one of his last roles he had completed before his death from throat cancer, Miguel Ferrer is Deathstroke. Also listed in the cast is director Kevin Smith, who will be playing the role of Kevin Smith.

The film is directed by Jay Oliva, who also directed Justice League Dark. The script was written by Ernie Altbacker and J.M. DeMatteis. A release date has not been announced, but expect to find it available on DVD, Blu Ray, and HD Digital Download soon.
