What if the Sirens of Borderlands were singing sirens?
Borderlands 2 is one of the coolest video game phenomena of the last ten years, in part because of the music. Here is Rexon, doing their cover of Short Change Hero by The Heavy. The song was originally released in 2009, then added to the soundtrack for the game Batman: Arkham City in 2011. The song just seems to be a natural anthem for the under-appreciated hero archetype. The cowboy western style drawl of the clean, unadorned guitar is perfect for this song, and the visuals in this music video are pitch perfect.

Kelly Jean is the lead singer, and Pete Fulker, the guitarist, are both big Borderlands fans and are both highly ranked in the game. The video was Kelly’s idea, and she dragged the others along for the ride. The bassist is Adam Felton, and the drummer is Matt Web.
