This new trailer was just revealed in Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con 2015 to an eager audience, and they all just lost it. Watch this and you’ll see why.
If you’re using a web browser and not a mobile device, be sure to give the SCIFI.radio audio stream a temporary rest while you watch so you don’t get that dueling soundtracks problem. Use the controller at the upper right. Ready? Here we go – watch for the first actual footage of Gal Godot as Wonder Woman, and an interesting cameo by none other than Lois Lane from 1978’s Superman: The Movie, none other than Margot Kidder.
The movie asks some pretty good basic questions about superheroes and their motivations, and how real people might respond to real superheroes. The groundwork for this approach was laid in Man of Steel, where Superman won the day, but at the expense of pretty much leveling the city of Metropolis and more or less just executing General Zod on the spot. These actions gained hurricanes of criticism from the fans, because they broke the mythology of Superman by making him oblivious to the needs, lives and laws of humankind.
Bruce Wayne sees Superman as a threat, and he’s not wrong in this context. Somehow everything comes together and Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman come together – but exactly how they do this with this kind of a setup is a real head scratcher. The characters are going to have to go through some serious arcs to get where they need to be by the end for that to happen, and we have to admit, we’re actually intrigued to find out how the writers plan to pull this off.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice releases in the United States on March 25, 2016.
