[krvod url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhWUFXvaZjo]You just have to scratch your head and ask “what were they thinking?

“No, really, I want to know. What were they thinking?”

In this Sesame Street video, Grover explains how to play The Game of Chairs, and at the end, the Rains of Castamere do not fall – but it’s loaded with in-jokes for the adults who have read the Game of Thrones books, or seen the television series. There is a Throne of Ping-Pong, a Throne of Wiffle-Ball, and the final chair, the throne of the land of “Jesteros”, a Throne of Iron. Or Irons.  I think they’re actually 9-irons, as in golf.

The target audience for sesame street shouldn’t be watching Game of Thrones, though, so none of that should make sense to them. It will make sense to the parents, and they’ll have a good laugh over it.

“Mom, Dad, what’s so funny?”

“Oh, um – Grover is, dear.”

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it.
