[krvod url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V13W9gQ_1GA]Comic books owe a lot to pulp novels of the ’30s and ’40s. It was two-fisted action, romance and intrigue. It was hot dames, cold nights, high stakes and higher adventure. Everything that made film noir and pulp novels great found its way into comic books, and the fusion of the three lives on today in TV shows like Marvel’s new series, Agent Carter.

In this two-and-a-half-minute clip, released yesterday by Marvel Entertainment, Agent Carter and Howard Stark exchange words on a dangerous secret that must not fall into the wrong hands, and we meet the original Edmund Jarvis. The piece is dripping with back story, unanswered questions, and nearly effortless style. Looking for the fisticuffs? They’re there, and it’s Agent Carter dealing the upper hand.

Marvel’s Agent Carter stars Hayley Atwell in the title role and premieres in January of 2015. It sure seems like an awfully long time to wait.
