[krvod url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWSRtPTmRr4]Avid listeners of SCIFI.radio will know that we seriously love Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams. Working together, they make some of the most inventive, energetic, and spirit-infused music there is. Today’s Video of the Day is directed by Edgar Wright, best known for his directorial work on films like Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim, and most recently, The World’s End. The music duo Daft Punkknown throughout the geek world for their heavily science fiction approach to electronica, are personified in the video as a pair of gigantic Mayan-esque stone heads that appear thousands of years old when Williams encounters them in the woods.

The soaring harmonies are matched by rhythm that simply grafts itself to your bones, but this music video doesn’t lean on the soundtrack for greatness.  Instead, Wright paints a poem in light and motion, and most of the time the dancers appear to be in weightless flight.  This video shows some of the true potential of the visual arts, and we love it.

Gust of Wind appears on Pharrell William’s newly released album, Girl, through William’s own label, I Am Other, as well as Columbia Records.

We hope you will too.  Enjoy.
