It’s nearly time for the Millennium ViewCon run by SiPhi Entertainment Group. The event is being held over the weekend of 31st of May and 1st of June, 2014 on the first floor of Jury’s Inn, 31 Keel Wharf, Liverpool, England, L3 4FN. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. on the day. Tickets are priced at a very reasonable £6 ($10) for 1 day and £10 ($17) for the two days, with 20% discounts for students an Old Age Pensioners.
This is not the biggest Comic Con; this appears to be the first Liverpool ViewCon, but it does have a number of stars well worth going to see, including Kenny Baker, Paul Blake, Brian Wheeler, Nicola Bryant, and Katie Purvis.
There will be cosplay from delegates, Empire Stormtroopers and Rebel Warriors, a full scale TARDIS, comic authors, Question and Answer panels, and autographs from many favourites. There will be plenty of merchandising and lots, lots more. You can even look out for your favourite SCIFI.radio U.K. correspondent, but you’ll have to figure out which costume he’s in!
The venue is superb, in one of the most historic locations of the port of Liverpool, and close to the Albert Docks, with large and picturesque views of the old waterfront. If you are interested in history, this is one of the best places to be. The area is also world famous for art galleries, historic buildings and of course, The Beatles.
Food is available in the Jury’s Inn restaurant, and the public bars are open to the convention delegates. The area is one where fine dining is replete.
The travel facilities in Liverpool are superb, with mainline trains to Liverpool Lime Street, and regular public transport to the Wharf areas. For people arriving by car, the parking is plentiful and free.
Overall, even though this may not be one of the biggest conventions, it promises to be really very cool, fun, and well worth a visit.
The weather forecast for the days is cloudy, but warm and dry.
