We are please to honor the actors Alex Kingston and John Barrowman, both of whom have birthdays today! Alex Kingston, who played River Song on Doctor Who, is 51 today. John Barrowman, whom Doctor Who and Torchwood fans know as Captain Jack Harkness, is 47.
Each have marvelous careers as actors, moving back and forth across the pond to star in both British and American television series, sometimes crossing paths on various productions. Though never appearing on screen together, they’ve both had major roles on Doctor Who, and both have appeared on the American series based on the DC Comics based show, Arrow.
We celebrate the lives of these two fine actors, and the contributions they both continue to make to popular culture and the shows we love.
