There are a whole lot of fanboyz and fangrllz waiting for this one. Guardians of the Galaxy began as a quirky space hero adventure comic published originally by Marvel Comics in Issue No. 18 of the comic book Marvel Super-Heroes in 1969. Today we present the official trailer for the new movie from Marvel Studios!
The movie teams five disparate personalities: Star-Lord, aka Peter Quill, played by Chris Pratt, was taken from Earth as a 9-year-old. He possesses a mysterious orb artifact (that everybody else wants to get their hands on) and pilots the spaceship Milano. Gamora (Zoe Saldana) is connected to Thanos, arguably the cosmos’ biggest baddie. Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) is your basic walking can of whoopass.
In the comics, the characters in the Guardians have been changed out over the years, but two signature characters have been the aliens Rocket Raccoon and Groot (computer-generated characters voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, respectively). These two are going to be significant elements in the movie, and they’re obviously the most fun characters right out of the box.
Guardians of the Galaxy, which premieres on August 1, will be the 10th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We’ll see the official trailer later tonight on the Jimmy Kimmel show at 11:35/10:35 Central, but for now, enjoy this enticing teaser!
