Captain America: The First Avenger was the first of the onslaught of Marvel Studio’s amazing cluster of superhero movies, all leading up to the Avengers.  Now we get our first look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  The movie is still six months away, but it’s already shaping up to be something pretty amazing.  Here’s the U.K. trailer for the film, released just today.

Cap finds himself in a much more complex world, having to make some pretty tough calls on what he does, why he does it and what he stands for.  But it’s far from cerebral, and Cap is as much the man of action as ever.  We’re not giving anything away by mentioning that the Helicarrier goes down in flames, by the way.  And if they’re throwing that out in the first trailer, the implication is that there is bigger stuff than that going on in this movie.

Captain America was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is based on a story by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Emily VanCamp, Robert Redford, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. The film arrives in theaters April 4, 2014.
