International performance artist Nelly Ben Hayoun is seeking singers and musicians of all levels, genres, and instruments from the space community at NASA and other space-oriented organizations to engage in a once in a lifetime event happening in August 2012 during the Zero 1 Biennial, the Arts & Technology Festival, in San Jose, California. Ms. Hayoun, in collaboration with other renowned artists, is assembling the world’s first International Space Orchestra to perform during the Zero 1 Biennial. Ben Hayoun is an award-winning director who designs experiences enabling you to become an astronaut in the living room, generate dark energy from pigeons eggs in the kitchen and collide atoms in the bathroom, while a replica of mount St Helen’s is erupting on the couch… She graduated from the Royal College of Art, Design Interactions MA, with a distinction in 2009, and worked and studied both textile design and fine art, exhibiting, speaking and performing worldwide such as in Design Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa or the first Beijing International Design Triennial, China. She has been called the “Willy Wonka of Design and Science’.
