The Mystery Machine – well, a Mystery Machine, anyway – is being sold by Ray’s Classics in San Carlos, California. It’s a ’69 Dodge cargo van for sale with the iconic paint job of the Mystery Machine from the cartoon series Scooby-Doo! The van has been seen tooling around the San Francisco area for years, often gracing comic book and science fiction conventions. The van is now being sold for the bargain basement price of $3,200. From the Craigslist ad that popped up yesterday:
1969 A100 MYSTERY MACHINE – $3200 (san carlos)
69 A100 VAN 6CYL/3SPD RUNS & DRIVES GOOD NEW FUEL PUMP REBUILT CARB REUPHOLSTERED STOCK SEATS BUMPERS INCLUDED NO TEXTS RARELY CHECK EMAILS BEST TO CALL RAY 415-517-5754
The Scooby-ized 1969 Dodge A100 van features a near perfect paint job, replicating the classic Mystery Machine vibe to a tee. According to the listing it puts the power to the ground with 6 cylinder, 3-speed and still runs and drives good. There’s even a slick “Jenkies” license plate paying homage to Velma and her classic clue-seeking catchphrase.
If Ray is keeping tabs on how much chatter his ad is generating on the ‘net, he’s probably kicking himself on that price tag about now…
